Optics11 is seeking a Subsea Cabling Development Engineer to join their R&D team in Amsterdam. You will develop fiber-optic cabling subsystems for subsea applications, from design through testing and offshore deployment. This role offers the chance to shape the future of a growing deep-tech scale-up.

Develop the fiber-optic cabling infrastructure subsystem
Design subsea fiber-optic cable solutions including connectors and strain relief
Translate product requirements into subsystem designs
Develop prototypes and perform testing
Support offshore deployments and cable handling solutions
Collaborate with external suppliers and technical partners

Wat je meebrengt

BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Photonics, Marine Engineering, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience with fiber-optic, electro-mechanical, marine, or subsea systems
Experience with fiber-optic cabling, connectors, or subsea cable infrastructure
Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD
Understanding of optical attenuation and power budgets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Mooi meegenomen

Experience with offshore, naval, or subsea engineering projects
Knowledge of subsea cable installation and deployment
Experience as a Subsystem Lead or technical lead
Hands-on SolidWorks experience for mechanical design
Familiarity with systems engineering and product lifecycle management
Experience with reliability engineering or offshore qualification standards
