About the job

Adyen is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to shape the future of its observability systems. You will design logging and metrics infrastructure for a global payments platform, managing over 1,500 servers across bare-metal and Kubernetes.

What you will do

Design and implement future architecture of logging and metrics systems
Manage lifecycle of over 1,500 servers across bare-metal and Kubernetes
Write code in Go or Python to automate operational tasks
Optimize Elasticsearch, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, and OpenTelemetry
Participate in on-call rotations and engineer solutions to reduce alerts
Improve self-service with automated guardrails and quota management

What you bring

10+ years experience in observability or platform/infrastructure domain
Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana Tempo
Linux kernel-level understanding and debugging skills
Production Kubernetes experience with kubectl and primitives
Proficiency in Go or Python for building tools and automation

Nice to have

Experience with large-scale multi-tenant isolation and quota governance
Familiarity with regulated environments for security and data handling
