About the job

Invisix is seeking a Scientific Computing Engineer to design and implement numerical methods for its solver in Eindhoven. You will build and maintain testing, validation, and benchmarking, as well as optimize performance on GPU and CPU hardware. The role involves collaborating with algorithm and software teams and contributing to technical decisions, code reviews, and documentation.

What you bring

  • PhD in physics, applied mathematics, or computational science, or equivalent industry experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience developing numerical software
  • Strong background in numerical methods and numerical linear algebra
  • Understanding of how code maps to hardware, typically through C, C++, Rust, or Fortran
  • Fluent English
  • Active use of AI tooling in daily work

Nice to have

  • Background in computational physics with similar mathematics
  • Experience with Python and/or Julia
  • Experience with GPU programming or high-performance computing
  • Software engineering practice in a team
  • Experience with numerical optimization or adjoint methods
