Diligent Corporation is looking for a Software Engineer II to join their team and help build the Third Party Risk Management platform. In this hybrid role, you will work on backend features and APIs within a TALL stack environment, contributing to technical decisions and mentoring colleagues.
What you will do
- Design and build backend features and RESTful APIs in Laravel within a TALL stack environment
- Own stories from implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration
- Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decisions for the Third Party Risk Management platform
- Review code, improve test coverage, and strengthen CI/CD and engineering standards
- Mentor Software Engineer I colleagues through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing
- Use AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and documentation while validating outputs
What you bring
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience in an agile, fast-paced environment
- Strong experience with PHP and Laravel, ideally within the TALL stack
- Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL or MariaDB), including data modelling and query optimisation
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and working on system integrations
- Practical experience with AWS or a similar cloud platform, plus comfort with Docker or other containerised environments
- Confident debugging production issues using logs, monitoring, and observability tools
Nice to have
- Experience with frontend technologies such as Vue, React, Blade, or Livewire in a Laravel context
- Prior exposure to building or maintaining SaaS products, especially in risk, security, or governance domains
- Experience mentoring others, leading technical initiatives, or improving developer experience and team workflows
