About the job

Boskalis is looking for an Engine Specialist to support its fleet in Papendrecht. You will act as the technical authority on propulsion and auxiliary engines, diagnosing complex issues and overseeing repairs.

What you will do

Act as technical reference for fleet teams on propulsion and auxiliary engines
Diagnose and assess complex engine issues and failures
Support repairs including planning, budgeting, and resource requirements
Assess repair scopes, service reports, and quotations from OEMs and service providers
Attend critical repair moments on board or in dock
Contribute to technical guidelines and best practices

What you bring

Business minded and understands Boskalis' business
Reliable, approachable, and trusted
Marine Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification
Former chief engineer or senior service engineer with hands-on experience on multiple engine types
Solid understanding of lubricants, fuels, engine wear mechanisms, and root-cause analysis
Good command of written and spoken English

Nice to have

Proven track record in managing 4-stroke marine engine and auxiliary systems overhauls and troubleshooting
Preferred OEM expertise in Wärtsilä, Caterpillar, MAN, Cummins, Bergen
