Axual is looking for a Backend (Full-Stack) Software Engineer to join their team in Utrecht. You will design and build scalable, secure features for real-time data platforms using open-source tools like Java, Kafka, and Docker. The role offers a hybrid work setup with flexibility between home and the Utrecht HQ.

- Design and build scalable, secure, and easy-to-use features
- Work with open-source tools like Java, Kafka, and Docker
- Contribute to Kafka-related projects, Helm charts, and Terraform provider
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code for real-time data platforms

- Support customers and share knowledge with colleagues and tech community
Wat je meebrengt
- 3+ years professional Java experience, preferably enterprise
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture and containerization
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Git, Maven, and CI/CD practices
- Strong product mindset
Mooi meegenomen
- Experience with Apache Kafka or other streaming/messaging systems
- Experience with Kafka Connect
- Working knowledge of Helm Charts
- Effective use of AI coding tools like Claude Code
