About the job

Fastned is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer for its Operator Team in Amsterdam. You will design, develop, and maintain the internal operations platform that supports Europe's fastest-growing fast-charging network.

What you will do

Design, develop, test and review code for internal operations platform
Deliver milestones to improve platform and charging infrastructure reliability
Use AI-augmented engineering and agentic workflows
Take ownership from discovery to post-production
Handle monitoring, alerting and incident analysis
Improve engineering practices and mentor team members

What you bring

7+ years of professional backend experience
Strong hands-on Kotlin or Java experience
Experience building and operating microservices in production
Familiarity with event-driven architectures and Kafka
Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch
Clear communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

Experience in e-mobility, energy or charging infrastructure
Experience building software for internal or field operations
Experience with technical leadership for a project or domain
