About the job
Qube Research & Technologies is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Amsterdam team. In this role, you will design and operate high-throughput distributed data systems and build Python services for market data processing.
What you will do
- Design and operate high-throughput distributed data systems
- Develop Python services and pipelines for market data
- Build systems for historical and time-critical data processing
- Design scalable processing architectures on-premises and AWS
- Build observability and operational tooling
- Collaborate with research, trading, and engineering teams
What you bring
- 5+ years in production-grade data platforms or distributed systems
- Strong Python software engineering experience
- Understanding of distributed processing concepts
- Experience with large data volumes and throughput demands
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow
- Experience with AWS services
Nice to have
- Experience building market-data platforms
- Knowledge of non-equity asset classes
- Experience with time-sensitive overnight processing
- Familiarity with Parquet, Arrow, Spark, Ray, or Dask
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or CloudFormation
- C++ development experience
