About the job

envelio GmbH is looking for a Senior Software Engineer Data Integration to join their team in Cologne or remotely from Germany. In this role, you will develop and enhance frameworks for processing measurement data from IoT devices to live data ingestion. You will take ownership of the entire data integration lifecycle, from raw data to normalized values.

What you will do

Develop measurement data integrations from IoT devices to live data ingestion
Design and improve the framework for measurement data integration
Own the entire lifecycle of data integration from raw data to normalized values
Contribute to the existing ETL framework for network data import
Optimize components for batch and streaming workloads
Continuously improve and adapt to best practices

What you bring

2+ years relevant experience in backend development with data engineering, API integration, or event-driven systems
Degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent
Practical experience with Python and best practices
Experience with SQL databases like PostgreSQL or TimescaleDB
Experience with external APIs or streaming systems like Kafka, MQTT, REST, or gRPC
Fluent English (C1)

Nice to have

Familiar with IoT or energy protocols like MQTT, IEC104
Experience with real-time data pipelines
Team player and passion for collaboration
Technical challenges and creative solutions
Familiar with parts of the tech stack
