Destinus is looking for a Service Engineer to join their team in Hengelo, focusing on the maintenance and support of generator sets. This role involves both preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as installation and commissioning activities at customer sites. The position requires a mix of technical expertise and a willingness to travel, including offshore assignments.

What you will do

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on generator sets
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, and control-system faults
Carry out generator installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up activities
Inspect engines, alternators, control panels, fuel systems, cooling systems, exhaust systems, and associated equipment
Conduct load-bank testing and performance testing of generating sets
Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide on-site technical support

What you bring

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering or related field
Typically 2–5+ years of experience servicing, maintaining, or commissioning generator sets or industrial power equipment
Valid driving license
Willingness to travel to customer sites on shore and offshore and work outside normal hours during emergencies

Nice to have

Experience with rotating equipment, alternators, and automatic transfer systems
