About the job
Lobster DATA GmbH is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a mixed team of backend and frontend engineers for its Data Platform. You will drive end-to-end delivery, maintain high engineering standards, and stay technically close to the codebase.
What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a mixed team of backend and frontend engineers
- Plan, prioritize, and ensure end-to-end delivery for the team domain
- Set and maintain high engineering quality standards
- Collaborate with product management and senior leadership
- Stay technically close to the codebase for architectural decisions
- Actively shape the use of AI within the team
What you bring
- 7+ years of software development, 3+ years in a leadership role
- Strong backend background, ideally Java
- Sufficient frontend understanding (TypeScript, Angular)
- Familiarity with networking and integration (HTTP/REST, Kafka, AMQP, MQTT, AS2, EDI, GraphQL)
- Hands-on attitude toward AI-driven engineering
- Fluent in English
Nice to have
- Knowledge of German or Dutch
