Huntsman is looking for a Senior Safety Engineer to lead EHS planning and execution support for turnarounds, shutdowns, projects, and major maintenance at their Rotterdam site. In this role, you will collaborate with operations, maintenance, projects, and contractors to identify risks early and provide visible coaching in the field.
What you will do
- Lead EHS planning and execution support for turnarounds, shutdowns, projects, and major maintenance
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, projects, and contractors to identify risks early
- Facilitate and challenge risk assessments for non-routine work and simultaneous operations
- Provide visible coaching in the field during planning and execution
- Support investigations, audits, and corrective measures
- Coordinate specialist support for fire risk, PPE, respiratory protection, and gas measurement
What you bring
- Significant EHS, safety engineering, or operational risk management experience in a high-risk industry
- Technical education or relevant background
- Practical experience with turnarounds, shutdowns, maintenance, or project execution
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment, permit-to-work, and contractor safety
- Ability to influence operations and contractors through technical credibility
- Experience with chemical, petrochemical, or Seveso sites
Nice to have
- MVK or HVK safety qualification, preferably HVK
- Experience with fire risk management or fire risk assessment
- Experience with capital projects or large turnarounds
