Cloud Software Engineer – Managed Kubernetes

About the job

Leaseweb is looking for a Cloud Software Engineer to join the Managed Kubernetes team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will design and develop Kubernetes controllers and operators, working with a hybrid model that combines office and remote work.

What you will do

  • Design, develop and maintain Kubernetes controllers and operators in Golang
  • Propose innovative solutions to meet product needs
  • Research, evaluate and recommend tools or components to improve the product
  • Collaborate with Product Owner and agile team to refine backlog and prioritize features
  • Improve and maintain platform for high-availability and scalability
  • Troubleshoot, reproduce, debug and resolve complex issues; participate in on-call duty

What you bring

  • Proven knowledge of programming languages, e.g., Golang
  • Experience developing and implementing Kubernetes components (Operators, Controllers, CRD, Cluster API)
  • Experience with Docker files, Kubernetes manifests, and Helm charts
  • Experience with Kubernetes and related projects
  • Good knowledge of cloud concepts: networking, storage, virtualization
  • Ability to collaborate, perform code reviews, work in scrum team, good communication

Nice to have

  • Experience with large Kubernetes deployments and CNCF tools
  • Experience with continuous deployment (e.g., Jenkins, ArgoCD)
  • Experience with monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Icinga, Prometheus, Alert Manager, Loki, Grafana)
  • Knowledge of Linux and OS internals
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Open source contributions or CKA certification
