About the job
Attendi is looking for a Native Android Mobile Engineer to join their Amsterdam-based team. In this role, you will develop and maintain the native Android application and open-source microphone SDK, focusing on voice recording, transcription, and medical documentation flows. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and take full ownership of the Android architecture and development lifecycle.
What you will do
- Develop and maintain native Android application
- Develop and maintain open-source Android microphone SDK
- Build voice recording, transcription, and medical documentation flows
- Collaborate with backend, frontend, UX, product, and mobile engineers
- Own Android architecture, development quality, testing, CI/CD, Play Store releases, crash reporting, monitoring, and user feedback
- Shape Android-specific UX decisions using Material Design and platform conventions
What you bring
- At least 5 years of experience
- Strong experience with native Android development using Kotlin
- Production experience with Jetpack Compose
- Understanding of Android lifecycle, permissions, foreground services, background execution limits, and platform-specific UX patterns
- Experience with Kotlin coroutines and reactive programming with Flow
- Ability to take meaningful ownership of Android features end-to-end
Nice to have
- Released at least one Android application to Google Play Store
- Involved in full release lifecycle of an Android app
- Experience with MVVM and Clean Architecture
- Experience designing public APIs or SDKs, including semantic versioning and sample apps
- Experience with audio recording, speech-to-text, offline/network-resilient flows, or privacy-sensitive applications
- Worked in healthcare, regulated, security-sensitive, or high-reliability environments
