Lionsville is looking for a Lead Engineer to join their team in The Hague. In this role, you will write code and set standards for a small senior team while designing and building an operational decision-support platform from start to delivery. You will work with AI agents to write code, make architecture choices, and translate business problems into software designs.

What you will do

Write code and set standards for a small senior team
Design and build an operational decision-support platform from start to delivery
Work with AI agents to write code and ensure specifications are correct
Make architecture choices across microservices, cloud platforms, databases, and APIs
Translate business problems into software designs
Conduct code review, break down work, and maintain codebase standards

What you bring

Ownership, bias to solutions, and clear communication
Strong software architecture capability
Deep backend engineering with architecture and API design expertise
Experience working agentically with AI
Complex data-model design experience
Experience owning a codebase from empty repository to production

Nice to have

Living in the Randstad
Comfortable with occasional travel to customer sites and night shifts
Dutch language skills
