CAREERS AT NLC is seeking a CEO to lead its gene therapy venture XtRNA, based in Nijmegen. This role focuses on driving the scientific and clinical roadmap toward IND readiness for a CMT2D program while expanding the broader tRNA platform. The CEO will oversee overall strategy, growth, and fundraising from seed to Series A.
What you will do
- Lead overall strategy, growth, and fundraising for seed and Series A
- Drive scientific and clinical roadmap toward IND readiness for CMT2D program
- Expand the broader tRNA platform
- Build and inspire a multidisciplinary team
- Establish partnerships with investors, academic collaborators, pharmaceutical partners, and patient foundations
- Represent the company externally to biotech and investment communities
What you bring
- Advanced degree (PhD or MD) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Genetics, or related field
- Experience leading or scaling biotech or pharmaceutical ventures, ideally in RNA therapeutics, gene therapy, or rare disease
- Demonstrated success in fundraising including venture capital and strategic partnerships
- Track record in strategic transactions like co-development partnerships, M&A, or exits
- Strong scientific understanding of delivery technologies such as AAV capsids, RNA biology, and genetic disease mechanisms
- Familiarity with regulatory pathways, translational medicine, and early clinical development for rare diseases

- Business training (MBA or equivalent)
