About the job

NTS is looking for an Optical Design Engineer to develop high-tech optical modules and systems. In this role, you will translate customer requirements into optical concepts and validate them through lab testing. You will collaborate with project managers, system architects, and external partners to bring optical systems to life.

What you will do

Develop and design high-tech optical modules and systems
Translate customer requirements into optical concepts and demonstrate feasibility through lab testing
Perform optical design and simulations using ray-tracing and Zemax
Validate prototypes and support installation and commissioning of optical systems
Collaborate with project managers, system architects, customers, partners, and suppliers
Stay updated on latest developments in optical engineering

What you bring

Master's or PhD degree in Engineering, Physics or related discipline
At least 2 years of experience in optical design and simulation, preferably with Zemax
Conceptual thinker with attention to detail, creative and structured
Strong analytical, communication, and social skills
Proactive mindset and ability to work independently and in a team

Nice to have

Background in mechatronics, opto-mechanics, or machinery
