About the job

NTS Optel in Nijmegen is looking for a Team Lead / Lead Engineer to lead and develop their optical engineering team. You will translate customer requirements into optical concepts and drive system integration and validation.

What you will do

Lead, coach and develop the optical engineering team
Develop optical engineering capabilities and competencies
Translate customer requirements into optical concepts and specifications
Design, model, simulate and optimize optical systems using Zemax
Select and specify optical components and subsystems
Lead optical system integration, verification and validation

What you bring

MSc or PhD in Applied Physics, Optics, Photonics or related field
Minimum 5 years experience in optical systems development
Expertise in optical design, modelling and simulation with Zemax
Hands-on experience with optical system integration and alignment
Experience in product development including prototyping and validation
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

Experience leading or coaching engineers
Knowledge of imaging, microscopy, laser systems, optical metrology or high-tech applications
