About the job
Join Speechify, a fast-moving company in the text-to-speech space, as a Platform Software Engineer. You'll own and improve critical services that handle payments, auth, and API traffic, working remotely with a high degree of autonomy.
What you will do
- Design, build, and own APIs for payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and public TTS API
- Take on existing services and make them faster, cheaper, and more reliable
- Establish correctness before shipping and leave checks for ongoing correctness
- Automate repetitive parts of the role
- Turn one-time work into repeatable team processes
- Design B2B and enterprise integrations
What you bring
- Proven backend experience in TypeScript/Node.js
- Direct experience with GCP; working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or another cloud
- Habit of giving away work you used to own
- Daily working setup with AI agents you can describe in detail
- Instinct to check results against system logs, database state, or actual requests
- Judgment about what not to build and ability to explain why
