As a Platform Software Engineer, you will design and own critical APIs and services that power the core product. What you will do
- Design, build, and own APIs for payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and public TTS API
- Improve existing services to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable
- Ensure correctness of changes before shipping and add checks for ongoing correctness
- Automate routine parts of the role to free up time for larger tasks
- Make individual work repeatable by the whole team
- Design B2B and enterprise integrations for external customers
What you bring
- Proven backend experience in TypeScript or Node.js
- Direct experience with GCP
- Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or another cloud provider
- Habit of delegating previously owned work and showing results from that delegation
- Daily use of AI agents with detailed description of their operation
- Instinct to verify results against system data rather than summaries
Nice to have
- Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
- Experience deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes
