About the job

Mozilla is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead backend development and own services end-to-end. You will collaborate with CloudEng on production environments and observability tooling, and participate in an on-call rotation for production issues.

What you will do

  • Lead backend development and maintain server-side logic
  • Own services end-to-end including deployment and production monitoring
  • Collaborate with CloudEng on production environments and observability tooling
  • Participate in on-call rotation for production issues
  • Handle releases, dependency updates, and support requests
  • Partner with frontend and cross-functional teams on API design

What you bring

  • 4+ years software development with backend focus
  • Strong experience in Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Rust
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL and SQL query optimization
  • DevOps experience on Google Cloud Platform with Docker
  • Experience with observability tools like Sentry and Grafana
  • Ownership mindset with on-call production support experience

Nice to have

  • Performance or load testing experience
  • Experience with Terraform and Kubernetes
  • Open-source contributions or personal projects
  • Django experience
