Polarsteps is looking for an iOS People Lead to guide and mentor a team of iOS engineers while contributing hands-on to the app. This hybrid role in Amsterdam balances people leadership with senior engineering work, focusing on improving the app's maintainability and resiliency.
What you will do
- Lead and mentor a team of iOS engineers
- Create a high-performing, collaborative team
- Partner with the iOS Tech Lead on technical and people leadership
- Work on the iOS app with the team
- Spend 40% time leading the iOS discipline and 60% as a senior engineer
- Improve app maintainability, resiliency, and extensibility
What you bring
- Led teams of 3/4 or more engineers for 2+ years
- Experience leading and mentoring engineers
- Pragmatic problem-solving approach
- Strong iOS development background with Swift and some Objective-C
- Experience with large App Store apps
- In-depth knowledge of UIKit, SwiftUI, and complex UI
