About the job

Monumental is building robots that automate construction. As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will own entire mechatronic systems from concept to production.

What you will do

Own entire mechatronic systems from idea to production
Scope novel capabilities and run back-of-envelope calculations
Drive hardware design through prototyping, testing, and validation
Select actuators and sensors, integrate systems, and develop firmware
Debug hardware issues at office and on construction sites
Lead broader problem spaces with a small multidisciplinary team

What you bring

Design hardware from scratch
Work at interface between mechanical, software, controls, and vision engineering
Develop proof-of-concept prototypes quickly
Source components and fabricate parts in-house
Integrate and validate actuators and electronics
Write or adapt simple embedded code

Nice to have

Experience in early-stage startups or top student team competitions
B.Sc. in electrical, mechatronics, or robotics engineering or equivalent experience
