Optics11 is a fast-growing deep-tech scale-up in Amsterdam, looking for a Hardware Test Engineer to join their international team. In this role, you will develop and execute test plans for electronic boards and sub-systems, design test setups, and perform various types of testing. You will also work on Python-based test automation and support prototype assembly.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute test plans for electronic boards and sub-systems
  • Design and maintain test setups, fixtures, and jigs
  • Perform environmental, stability, and robustness testing
  • Develop Python-based test automation
  • Support prototype assembly, soldering, and fiber handling
  • Analyze test results and investigate hardware failures

What you bring

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Applied Physics
  • 2+ years experience in hardware testing or test engineering
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments
  • Experience executing test plans and documenting results
  • Good soldering and rework skills for SMD components
  • Python skills for test automation and data analysis

Nice to have

  • Experience with fiber handling and fusion splicing
  • Experience with EMC pre-compliance or environmental test standards
  • IPC certification or ESD control program experience
  • Experience developing production test setups or jigs
  • Experience in multidisciplinary high-tech product development
