About the job
Vesper is looking for a Red Meat Market Insights Analyst to join their team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will analyze global production, trade flows, and consumption trends for beef and pork, delivering weekly updates and ad hoc reports. You will also build and maintain a network of industry contacts, especially in the US market.
What you will do
- Analyze global and regional production, trade flows, and consumption trends for beef and pork
- Deliver weekly market updates and ad hoc reports combining fundamental analysis and market sentiment
- Identify, source, and validate new data to increase red meat market coverage, focusing on US data
- Build and maintain a network of industry contacts, especially in the US market
- Lead research initiatives and act as go-to person for red meat markets
- Build and maintain supply-demand balance sheets and price views for beef and pork
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in red meat markets covering beef and pork across the value chain
- Good understanding of supply chains, pricing mechanisms, and key market drivers in global red meat markets
- Existing network of relevant market participants, ideally including US contacts
- Strong analytical skills with ability to navigate large datasets
- Experience producing market analyses and reports with forward-looking perspective
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Nice to have
- Experience in or strong familiarity with the US red meat market
- Knowledge of analytical tools such as Excel, Python, or R
