About the job

Zero Motorcycles Inc. is seeking a Regulatory Engineer to lead global certification strategies for high-voltage safety, battery compliance, EMC, and OBD. You will serve as the subject matter expert on electrical vehicle regulations and coordinate type-approval testing with agencies like RDW and TÜV.

What you will do

  • Serve as subject matter expert for electrical vehicle regulations
  • Drive global certification strategy for high-voltage safety, battery compliance, EMC, and OBD
  • Provide regulatory input during product design
  • Design and execute pretesting programs for electrical, EMC, and OBD specifications
  • Coordinate type-approval testing with agencies like RDW, TÜV, DEKRA, IDIADA, VCA
  • Compile and submit homologation packages for Whole Vehicle Type Approvals

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related electrical discipline
  • 3–8 years of vehicle type-approval or regulatory compliance engineering with electrical or EV focus
  • Working knowledge of EU L-category regulations, UN ECE rules, and US frameworks
  • Hands-on experience coordinating testing cycles and preparing technical documentation

Nice to have

  • Direct relationships with testing agencies like TÜV, RDW, IDIADA
  • Familiarity with ISO 13063, ISO 26262, and Conformity of Production management
  • Ability to translate regulations into design constraints for engineering teams
  • Comfortable operating independently in a rapid international matrix setup
  • Passion for motorcycles or riding
