About the job

Monumental is looking for a generalist Software Engineer to join their Amsterdam team. You will work on a wide range of systems, from robot firmware and Rust services to web UI and infrastructure.

What you will do

Ship features across robot firmware, Rust services, and web UI
Harden production systems by debugging subtle bugs
Own infrastructure from bare-metal servers to deploy tooling
Build observability across the robot fleet
Create tools to multiply team effectiveness
Improve data infrastructure

What you bring

Industry experience building and deploying production systems in multiple languages
Strong sense of ownership and motivation
Familiarity with Linux systems and conventions
Knowledge of common communication protocols like UDP, TCP, WebSockets
Strong CS or mathematics foundation

Nice to have

Rust experience
Understanding basic linear algebra and 3D transformations
Background as technical founder, CTO, or founding engineer
