About the job
Destinus is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on turbojet engines in Hengelo. You will design and optimize gas turbine components for high-performance aerospace applications.
What you will do
- Design and optimize gas turbine components like compressor stages, rotor shafts, and bearing systems
- Analyze thermomechanical material behavior under extreme conditions
- Define precise tolerances, fits, and clearances for high-speed assemblies
- Incorporate design for manufacturability and assembly principles
- Perform stress analyses to assess structural integrity
- Collaborate with testing teams to validate designs and interpret results
What you bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field
- 5+ years experience in gas turbine or high-performance rotating machinery design
- Strong understanding of material properties in high-temperature, high-stress environments
- Proficiency in precision tolerancing and mechanical design for rotating assemblies
- Experience performing stress analyses to inform design improvements
- Proficiency in CAD software like SolidWorks or NX
Nice to have
- Knowledge of rotordynamics and high-speed bearing systems for turbomachinery
- Use of FEA tools
