Over de functie

Flexport is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join its Platform SRE team in Amsterdam. You will design and operate reliable, scalable infrastructure on AWS and other cloud platforms, while evolving container orchestration, observability, and CI/CD pipelines.

Wat ga je doen

  • Design, build, and operate reliable, scalable infrastructure in AWS and other cloud platforms
  • Evolve container orchestration (Kubernetes), Helm charts, deployment systems (Argo), and guardrails
  • Evolve observability stack (Openmetrics, Datadog) for system insights
  • Set standards for Infrastructure-as-Code codebases (Terraform)
  • Create and support CI/CD pipelines (Buildkit, Github Actions) and build tooling (Gradle, Bazel, npm/pnpm/bun, Go, Cargo)
  • Improve incident response tooling and align with product teams on platform-wide changes

Wat je meebrengt

  • 10+ years of software engineering, site reliability engineering, or infrastructure engineering experience
  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure with hands-on AWS experience
  • Strong Infrastructure-as-Code skills, preferably with Terraform
  • Solid software engineering skills to build automation and production tooling in a general-purpose programming language
  • Experience leading incident response and conducting blameless post-mortems
  • Independent mindset, sound judgment around infrastructure, excellent communication, helpful attitude, and drive for impact

Mooi meegenomen

  • Experience operating AWS at scale across multiple accounts, regions, and availability zones
  • Experience with GitOps and continuous delivery tooling such as Argo CD
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management at scale, including OIDC
  • Experience designing disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience testing programs
  • Experience improving cloud cost efficiency and resource utilization
