About the job

Optics11, a leading deep-tech scale-up in Amsterdam, is looking for an Acoustic Signal Processing Engineer to join their R&D team. You will work on cutting-edge acoustic modelling and signal processing tasks for advanced sensing technologies.

What you will do

Execute acoustic modelling and signal processing tasks
Analyze and interpret experimental data
Develop and test algorithms for beamforming, event detection, filtering, and data classification
Document and communicate progress
Collaborate across functions with software, embedded, and hardware engineers
Improve team workflows and tools

What you bring

1-3 years of experience in research or development, or a PhD in a relevant discipline
Strong background in physical modelling, underwater acoustics, wave propagation, signal processing, sonar, applied mathematics, or equivalent
Good understanding of digital signal processing, statistical signal processing, estimation theory, numerical methods, scientific computing
Excellent programming skills in Python, Julia, C++, or similar
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

Knowledge of AI, machine learning techniques
Experience with CUDA, PyTorch, TensorFlow
Experience with fiber optic measurement principles or interferometry
