About the job

Optics11, a deep-tech scale-up in Amsterdam, is looking for a Field Subsea Engineer to design and deploy subsea structures. You will work on sensor nodes and deployment systems, collaborating with fiber optic and electronics teams.

What you will do

Design subsea mechanical structures for sensor nodes and deployment systems
Perform structural analysis under operational and environmental loads
Support field deployments and naval operations
Define material selections for subsea environments
Develop engineering drawings and technical documentation
Collaborate with fiber optic and electronics teams

What you bring

BSc or MSc in Mechanical, Naval, Civil, or Marine Engineering
Over 5 years of offshore, marine, and subsea design engineering experience
Knowledge of DNV, ISO 13628, or equivalent standards
Experience with OrcaFlex
Proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent CAD
Proficiency in ANSYS, ABAQUS, or equivalent FEA tools

Nice to have

Experience with fiber optic systems
