Join Optics11, a leading deep-tech scale-up in Amsterdam, as a Photonics Engineer. You will contribute to photonic subsystem development throughout the product lifecycle, working with interdisciplinary teams to bring innovative solutions to life.

What you will do

Contribute to photonic subsystem development throughout product lifecycle
Design, develop, integrate, and validate photonic components and subsystems
Execute optical measurement, characterization, and validation activities
Analyze test results and implement improvements
Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering teams
Apply structured problem-solving to technical challenges

What you bring

MSc or BSc in Photonics, Applied Physics, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
1-2 years industry experience in photonic product development or related fields
Strong understanding of photonic components and performance characteristics
Hands-on experience with optical measurements and laboratory testing
Experience with fiber-optic systems, fiber handling, fusion splicing, and laser-based systems
Strong Python skills for data analysis, automation, or test development

Nice to have

Experience in multidisciplinary product development environments
Experience supporting prototype development, manufacturing transfer, or industrialization
Experience with interferometry, fiber-optic sensing, or laser safety
