Adyen is looking for a Staff Engineer to join its Banking Products team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will set new standards for quality and reliability while shaping the future of financial infrastructure. You'll partner with product teams and mentor engineers to drive engineering excellence.

What you will do

Set new standards for quality, reliability, and robustness in engineering systems
Help engineering team make long-term technical decisions for scalable systems
Partner with product team to design and shape new product offerings
Solve customer problems and needs
Research and prototype new product ideas
Foster a culture of engineering excellence, ownership, and collaboration

What you bring

10+ years of engineering experience in designing and building software
Proven track record of designing, building, scaling, and running large complex engineering systems
Experience as a Staff Engineer or Tech Lead in comparable tech companies serving around 30 engineers
Deep care about customer needs and experience
Experience with financial infrastructure, ideally in issuing, banking, treasury, or embedded finance
Experience in coaching and mentoring other engineers

Nice to have

Experience working cross-functionally across product, engineering, and commercial
