FairPhone B.V. is looking for a User Validation Engineer to drive user-centric testing across the product lifecycle in Amsterdam. In this hybrid role, you will shape early concepts, manage beta programs, and turn user feedback into actionable insights for a company committed to ethical electronics.
What you will do
- Review early hardware and software concepts with Product Managers to identify usability risks and define experience KPIs
- Define test plans for prototypes, dogfooding, alpha, beta, and regression testing during development phases
- Manage end-to-end beta program execution, including cohort recruitment, tester engagement, and device distribution
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative feedback into actionable reports and translate insights into Jira
- Translate post-launch market insights into usability investigation testing and build feedback loops
- Scale the user testing community and establish user experience quality targets
What you bring
- 7 years experience in user validation, QA, UX research, or technical program management for consumer electronics
- Track record of running small-scale alpha tests (20-50 users) and large-scale beta trials (200+ participants)
- Formal training in Statistics, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design Engineering, Psychology, or related field
- Advanced experience with Jira
- Practical proficiency with research tools like UserTesting or Maze
- Strong understanding of empirical study design for statistically relevant results
Nice to have
- ISTQB Foundation and Usability Testing (CT-UT) certification
- Experience working with Asia-based design and manufacturing partners
