FairPhone B.V. is looking for an Open Source Software Engineer to join their team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will build and maintain partnerships with open source communities and lead open sourcing activities for Android devices.
What you will do
- Build and maintain partnerships with open source communities
- Lead open sourcing activities for Android devices
- Explore community engagement and onboard open source partners
- Contribute to software quality through community work
- Align software suppliers with open source and longevity requirements
- Guide internal teams on open source best practices
What you bring
- Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years hands-on experience in Android ecosystem
- 5+ years experience in open-source development
- Strong knowledge of Android stacks and C/C++, Rust, Java, Kotlin
- Proficient with GNU/Linux operating systems
- Proficient in spoken and written English
Nice to have
- Strong open source experience in other projects
- Experience with Android and mobile ODM ecosystem
