About the job

As an intern on the Pilot Plant Innovation team at Avery Dennison in Leiden, you will contribute to optimizing multilayer coating processes and supporting new product development. This role offers hands-on experience with pilot-scale equipment and advanced analytical techniques in a collaborative, international environment.

What you will do

Execute trials on pilot-scale equipment to identify technical constraints and optimize multilayer coating setups
Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using statistical methodologies
Support new product development by aligning process capabilities with product functionality
Establish methods for evaluating layer thickness and homogeneity
Perform analytical testing techniques such as confocal Raman spectroscopy or SEM

What you bring

Currently enrolled in final year of Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
Fluency in English
Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Strong interest in process technology, fluid mechanics, and measurement techniques
Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

Competence in statistical software like Minitab or SPSS
