About the job

Clera is looking for an AI Infrastructure / Product Engineer to build and scale the systems behind its AI-powered products. The role focuses on creating reliable evaluation pipelines, backend services, and cloud infrastructure that support research and product development. This is a remote position within a team that values collaboration between engineering and AI research.

What you will do

Build repeatable benchmarks and evaluation pipelines for model accuracy, hallucinations, retrieval quality, latency, and cost
Create dashboards to visualize system performance changes
Develop production retrieval, drafting, document, and agent workflows from research prototypes
Build backend services, APIs, and internal tools for testing and releasing improvements
Deploy and operate cloud infrastructure including monitoring, databases, delivery pipelines
Collaborate with AI research and stay connected to product and user needs

What you bring

At least 3 years of experience as a software, infrastructure, or product engineer
Strong Python skills and hands-on cloud deployment experience
Experience with APIs, databases, backend services, deployment pipelines, and production monitoring
Experience building evaluation pipelines, benchmarks, or assessment systems for ML or AI
Ability to turn ambiguous ideas and experimental code into usable products
Interest or experience in LLMs, RAG, agents, AI benchmarks, or document automation

Nice to have

Full-stack experience
Familiarity with FastAPI, Docker, React, Next.js, Postgres, or vector databases
