About the job

Clera is looking for a Founding Engineer to help build and scale its AI agent platform. This remote role involves taking ownership of technical projects from start to finish, shaping the architecture, and setting the standards for the engineering team.

What you will do

Develop architecture and infrastructure for scaling
Build and operate the agent runtime
Take projects end to end across backend, infrastructure, frontend, and AI agents
Set technical standards and guide engineering team growth
Ship improvements regularly to users

What you bring

At least 2 years of experience shipping production software or equivalent
Experience building and running LLM or AI agent systems in production
Full-stack range across backend, infrastructure, and user interfaces
Experience turning prototypes into dependable systems
Evidence of owning technical decisions and delivering quickly
Based in Europe and willing to relocate to San Francisco within the first year

Nice to have

Strong generalist engineering skills
Practical experience with agent workflows, memory, evaluations, or verification
