Flow Traders is looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join their Amsterdam team. You will own performance at scale for distributed systems and storage, build and maintain platform capabilities, and make design decisions on data modeling and storage.

What you will do

Own performance at scale for distributed systems and storage
Build and maintain platform capabilities for users
Make design decisions on data modeling and storage
Operate and improve reliability of systems
Enable governance and context for AI systems
Mentor engineers and work with AI tools

What you bring

8+ years building and operating data platforms in production
Reason from fundamentals in system design
Make trade-offs between latency, cost, consistency, simplicity
Strong data modeling and data warehousing experience
Hands-on experience with distributed storage, messaging, processing, and container orchestration
Strong programming skills in Python or Java
