About the job

Zero Motorcycles Inc. is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to join their Amsterdam team. In this role, you will ensure compliance with ISO 26262 by 2029 and manage functional safety implementation across new product programs. You'll work onsite to deliver safe motorcycle and powertrain applications.

What you will do

Achieve ISO 26262 compliance by September 2029
Deliver compliance of motorcycle and powertrain applications to functional safety standards
Own and schedule functional safety implementation in new product programs
Perform hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA)
Create and maintain functional safety documentation and reports
Review hardware and firmware architectures for safety requirements

What you bring

Bachelor's degree in Systems or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years of regulatory and standards experience including ISO 26262, IEC 61508, UL, CE, SAE, CPSC
Experience with product lifecycle verification and validation tools
Functional safety template document generation and data validation

Nice to have

Multiple relevant industrial powertrain, automotive, or powersports project contributions
Knowledge of FMVSS, EU 168/2013, ADR, ECE regulations
Licensed motorcycle rider
