About the job

Optics11 is looking for a Head of Sales Engineering to lead technical discovery and solution design for priority opportunities. In this role, you will build and develop the sales engineering team and function, and design the engagement model with Sales and Bid Management. You will also develop scalable technical sales assets and knowledge base, define and report sales engineering metrics in CRM, and collaborate with multiple teams to win complex programmes.

What you bring

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years in sales or systems engineering for maritime systems
  • 3+ years leading a customer-facing technical team
  • Knowledge of underwater acoustic sensing and defence sales
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Collaborative and hands-on mindset

Nice to have

  • Experience in fiber optic sensing or anti-submarine warfare
  • Experience with export control regimes and defence procurement
  • Knowledge of Dutch, German, French or another European language
