About the job
Backbase is looking for a Lead Principal Solution Architect to join their team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will guide architecture decisions for banking solutions, design integrations, and build prototypes with AI agents.
What you will do
- Understand bank technical requirements and guide architecture decisions
- Design BankingOS integrations via APIs, events and patterns
- Design Agentic Banking solutions with AI agents and permissions
- Assess AI limitations and test solutions
- Build and test prototypes with AI agents and tools
- Plan for production and document architecture
What you bring
- Experience designing complex enterprise solutions in customer-facing architecture or technical consulting
- Practical experience building AI applications and agent workflows
- Strong knowledge of enterprise integration, distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures and cloud native deployment
- Engineering experience with Java, Spring, identity and access management, DevOps and modern cloud platforms
- Understanding of security, data privacy, access permissions and operational resilience in banking or other regulated industries
- Ability to explain technical decisions to executives, architects and engineers
