About the job

Flexport is looking for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Security Engineer to join its Amsterdam team. In this role, you will shape the security architecture of cloud and Kubernetes environments, drive remediation through infrastructure-as-code, and act as a local technical voice for cloud security. You will collaborate closely with a US-based team, contributing to a global security strategy.

What you will do

  • Design and review cloud security architecture for AWS and Kubernetes
  • Drive remediation at source in Terraform modules
  • Harden Kubernetes platform with pod security, service mesh, network policy, secrets management, and supply-chain controls
  • Build and maintain policy-as-code and IaC scanning to block risky patterns in CI
  • Write code in Go or Python through the standard CI/CD
  • Act as local technical voice for cloud security and partner with US-based team

What you bring

  • 5–8 years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or platform security engineering
  • Hands-on AWS and Kubernetes experience
  • Proficiency in at least one compiled language (Go or similar) and one scripting language (Python or similar)
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar) and GitOps delivery model
  • Working knowledge of IAM and least-privilege design across cloud and container environments

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud security posture tooling (Wiz, Orca, Prisma, or similar)
  • Software supply-chain security experience (SLSA, artifact signing, provenance)
  • Familiarity with EU data-residency and cross-border data-handling considerations
  • Multi-cloud experience
