Flexport is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join its Detection & Response team in Amsterdam. You will own EMEA-hours incident response and build detection across endpoint, identity, SaaS, and cloud environments.
What you will do
- Build and tune detections across endpoint, identity, SaaS, and cloud
- Track detection quality using metrics like MITRE ATT&CK coverage and precision
- Own EMEA-hours incident response including triage, containment, and remediation
- Build automation to reduce manual investigation work
- Define telemetry requirements for new systems before they launch
- Proactively threat hunt across the estate
What you bring
- 5-8 years of experience in detection engineering, incident response, or threat hunting
- Proficiency in at least one programming language like Python or Go
- Experience with a modern SIEM or detection pipeline such as Panther, Elastic, or Splunk
- Practical incident response experience leading or playing a major role in real incidents
Nice to have
- Experience treating detections as code with CI/CD and peer review
- Experience defining telemetry contracts for systems before they ship
- Track record of critically evaluating AI-assisted work
- Familiarity with EU data-residency and cross-border data-handling
- Experience with fraud or financial-crime detection patterns
