About the job

Optics11 is seeking a Technical Design Engineer to join their team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will transform customer proposals into detailed technical designs and create production-ready documentation.

What you will do

Convert customer proposals into detailed technical designs
Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical specifications
Define design details like mounting, sealing, and cable routing
Design hardware such as junction boxes and sensor mounts
Produce production-ready documentation including BOMs
Support procurement, suppliers, and production teams

What you bring

Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or similar
7-12 years of experience
Strong mechanical design and CAD experience
Experience with detailed drawings and BOMs
Understanding of manufacturing, tolerances, and documentation
Ability to work with cross-functional teams

Nice to have

Experience with underwater or harsh-environment equipment
Experience with junction boxes, cables, and connectors
Experience with fiber optic assemblies and splicing
