Telnyx is looking for a Software Engineer to work on telephony engineering, focusing on Elixir. In this role, you will design and maintain APIs, services, and systems for large-scale telephony features, while improving engineering standards and optimizing performance.
What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems for telephony engineering
- Collaborate with engineers to develop large-scale telephony features
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
- Optimize latency, scalability, and performance of core telephony infrastructure
What you bring
- 2+ years of professional software development with Elixir
- Deep knowledge of microservice architecture patterns and anti-patterns
- Understanding of concurrent and distributed programming challenges
- Thoughtful decision-making balancing speed and long-term optimization
- Experience in a fast-paced, product-driven environment
- Keeps up with latest technologies and shares learnings
Nice to have
- SIP and VoIP related protocols and technologies like RTP, WebRTC, ICE, STUN, TURN
- Experience with Consul, Docker, Kubernetes, Github Actions, Ansible, Grafana, Graylog, Prometheus
