About the job

Fastned is a fast-growing company building the largest fast-charging network for electric vehicles in Europe. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will work on their charging platform, shaping the future of e-mobility from their Amsterdam office in a hybrid setup.

What you will do

Design, develop, test and review code for charging platform
Deliver migration from OCPP 1.6 to OCPP 2.x
Implement Autocharge and Plug & Charge
Use AI-augmented engineering in daily work
Oversee technical development from idea to deployment
Improve engineering practices and mentor team members

What you bring

7+ years professional backend experience
Strong hands-on Kotlin or Java
Experience with microservices in production
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and relational databases
Proficiency in English

Nice to have

Hands-on OCPP 1.6 or 2.x
Knowledge of e-mobility, MSP or CPO models
Experience with high-throughput real-time systems
Experience with mobile app backends
Experience building with LLMs or agents in production
