Optics11, a leader in innovative fiber optic sensing technology, is seeking a Senior Customer Experience Designer to join their Product team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will lead customer research and shape end-to-end experiences for high-stakes defense and security applications.

What you will do

  • Lead customer and user research across installation, operation, and maintenance
  • Own customer journey and service design, mapping end-to-end experiences
  • Develop personas and manage customer insights with a central repository
  • Translate customer needs into product solutions with blueprints and prototypes
  • Validate and measure customer experience outcomes
  • Establish shared, evidence-based view of customers within 6-12 months

What you bring

  • Master's degree in engineering or design, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Customer/User Experience Research in technical fields
  • Strong understanding of hardware and software products in complex environments
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Jira Product Discovery, Dovetail, Miro, Figma

Nice to have

  • Experience in defense industry or industrial high-tech/high compliance environment
  • Experience in design leadership, system architecture, and design quality management
  • Proficiency in Dutch language
