About the job

Flexport is looking for a Senior Software Engineer: Platform SRE to design and operate reliable, scalable infrastructure in AWS and other cloud platforms. You'll work on container orchestration, observability, and incident response tooling while collaborating with product teams.

What you will do

Design and operate reliable, scalable infrastructure in AWS and other cloud platforms
Contribute to container orchestration (Kubernetes), Helm charts, and deployment systems (Argo)
Improve observability stack (Openmetrics, Datadog)
Refine standards for Infrastructure-as-Code codebases (Terraform)
Support developers with CI/CD pipelines and build tooling
Improve incident response tooling and partner with product teams

What you bring

5+ years of software engineering, site reliability engineering, or infrastructure engineering experience
Solid knowledge of cloud infrastructure with hands-on AWS experience
Strong Infrastructure-as-Code skills, preferably with Terraform
Solid software engineering skills to build automation and production tooling
Experience participating in incident response and blameless post-mortems
Proactive mindset, good judgment around infrastructure, strong communication

Nice to have

Experience operating AWS at scale across multiple accounts, regions, and availability zones
Experience with GitOps and continuous delivery tooling such as Argo CD
Experience with Identity and Access Management, including OIDC
Exposure to disaster recovery, business continuity, or resilience testing
Experience improving cloud cost efficiency and resource utilization
