Flexport is looking for a Staff Software Engineer in Applied AI to join their Amsterdam team. In this role, you will design and ship end-to-end AI agents for logistics tasks, working across the organization to understand problems and align stakeholders. You will move quickly from idea to production, treating each deployment as a learning opportunity.

What you will do

Design and ship end-to-end AI agents for logistics tasks
Cross organizational boundaries to understand problems and align stakeholders
Move fast from idea to production, treating deployments as learning opportunities
Work with operators, domain experts, and leadership to turn ambiguous problems into shipped solutions

What you bring

10+ years of software engineering experience
Extensive experience building with LLMs in production or side projects
Strong product instincts to identify what is worth building
LLM fluency in agent patterns, RAG, prompt engineering, tool use, evaluation
Full-stack capability in TypeScript and Next.js
Entrepreneurial drive, thrive in ambiguity, move fast without waiting for instructions

Nice to have

Experience with workflow orchestration (e.g., Temporal)
Experience building internal tools or operator-facing applications
